Background
Zambia Institute of Procurement and Supply is a statutory professional regulatory body established under an Act of Parliament to regulate the practice and conduct of professionals in the procurement and supply chain management profession.
The Institute is responsible for, among other functions, regulating professional practice, registering and maintaining a register of professionals, promoting ethical and professional standards, providing continuing professional development, and protecting the interests of the profession and the public.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced individuals with a vision to excel in the following positions:
1. Compliance and Membership Manager (1 Position)
Job Purpose
The Membership and Compliance Manager will be in charge of leading and managing overall membership recruitment, retention, licensing, compliance and enforcement functions of the Institute in accordance with the Zambia Institute of Procurement and Supply Act No. 29 of 2025, to ensure that only qualified and licensed persons practice procurement and supply in Zambia.
Key Responsibilities
Working under the supervision of the Registrar/Chief Executive Officer, the specific responsibilities of the Procurement Specialist shall be:
- Developing and implementing membership growth and retention strategies.
- Overseeing the end-to-end membership application, registration, and renewal process.
- Ensuring members comply with ZIPS' Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct.
- Ensuring data protection and confidentiality of member information.
- Educating members on ethical standards, compliance requirements, and best practices.
- Developing and reviewing membership and compliance policies.
- Planning and conducting compliance inspections in public and private institutions.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate should possess:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Business Development Studies or another relevant discipline from a recognized institution.
- Grade 12 Certificate with five (5) credits including Mathematics and English.
- Excellent customer and personal service skills with the use of relevant tools and technology.
- At least 7 years' relevant professional experience, with at least 3 years at managerial or supervisory level.
- Must be a paid-up member of a relevant professional body.
Skills and Competencies
- Understanding of the ZIPS Act No. 29 of 2025 is an added advantage.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) or membership management systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service.
- High level of integrity, honesty, and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

2. Assistant Compliance and Membership Officer (1 Position)
Job Purpose
The Assistant Compliance and Membership Officer will provide operational and administrative support in the implementation of the Institute’s membership, compliance, professional registration and regulatory functions. The position will assist in ensuring that members and regulated practitioners comply with the Institute’s statutory, regulatory and professional requirements, while providing efficient and responsive membership services.
Key Responsibilities
Working under the supervision of the Compliance and Membership Manager, the specific responsibilities of the Assistant Compliance and Membership Officer shall be:
- Assist in the processing of new membership applications, renewals, and upgrades.
- Provide exceptional customer service by promptly and professionally resolving member inquiries via email, phone, and in person.
- Support the implementation and monitoring of compliance policies and procedures.
- Assist in the issuance of practicing licenses and ensure members are registered in the appropriate membership categories.
- Support the Education and Training unit with student registration and exemption applications as needed.
- Assist in the preparation of periodic membership and compliance reports.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- Full Grade 12 Certificate with five (5) credits, including Mathematics and English.
- A Diploma in Business Administration, Public Administration, Business Development Studies or another relevant discipline from a recognized institution.
- A minimum of two (2) years of progressive work experience in a membership management, compliance, customer service, or administrative role within a professional body or regulatory authority is preferred.
- Must be a paid-up member of a relevant professional body.
Skills and Competencies
- Understanding of the ZIPS Act No. 29 of 2025 is an added advantage.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) or membership management systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
