Nestcare Clinic is a Maternal and Child Health facility based in Blantyre, Malawi. The clinic is committed to providing affordable, quality and patient-focused services in a clean and secure environment. To support its financial operations and ensure excellent customer service, Nestcare Clinic is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Cashier.

Purpose of the Position

The Cashier will receive payments for services rendered, issue receipts, maintain accurate cash records and support the Accountant in tracking daily revenue. The role requires financial transactions to be recorded accurately and on time while providing courteous service to clients.

Key Responsibilities

Cash Handling and Receipting

• Receive payments through cash, mobile money and bank transfers for clinic services.
• Issue official receipts for all payments collected.
• Ensure correct billing according to services provided.
• Balance the cash drawer at the beginning and end of each day.

Record Keeping and Reporting

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date daily cash summaries and transaction logs.
• Submit daily collection reports to the Accountant.
• Reconcile discrepancies between physical cash and system records.

Client Service

• Handle billing enquiries from patients in a professional and respectful manner.
• Guide patients on payment procedures and resolve basic payment issues.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient financial information.

Support to Finance and Administration

• Assist with data entry related to financial transactions.
• Work with the Accountant during audits and cash counts.
• Report any suspicious or irregular transactions immediately.

Qualifications and Experience

• Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) required.
• Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field is preferred.
• At least 1–2 years of experience working as a Cashier, preferably in a healthcare or private-sector setting.
• Experience handling cash and mobile money payments such as Airtel Money and TNM Mpamba.
