Tri-Mate Engineering Limited is a dynamic and growing engineering company committed to excellence, safety, and professional service delivery. We are seeking qualified, motivated, and results-oriented individuals to join our team in Lusaka for the following positions:

1. LABORATORY TECHNICIAN (2 POSITIONS)

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine laboratory tests and analyses in accordance with established procedures and quality standards.
• Prepare samples, operate laboratory equipment, and maintain accurate records of results.
• Ensure proper calibration, maintenance, and cleanliness of laboratory instruments.
• Adhere to health, safety, and quality control protocols.
• Support technical teams with reliable data and reports.

Requirements:

• Diploma or Certificate in Laboratory Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years relevant experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and knowledge of laboratory safety practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• ZAQA verification is mandatory.

2. CLINICAL OFFICER / CLINICAL MEDICINE (1 POSITION)

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide clinical care, diagnosis, and treatment to staff and project-related personnel.
• Conduct medical examinations, manage minor illnesses and injuries, and make appropriate referrals.
• Maintain patient records and ensure compliance with medical and occupational health standards.
• Support workplace health programmes and emergency response.

Requirements:

• Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery (or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
• Valid registration and practising licence with the relevant regulatory body.
• At least 2–3 years clinical experience; experience in occupational or industrial health is an added advantage.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• ZAQA verification is mandatory.

3. SAFETY OFFICER (3 POSITIONS)

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement and monitor occupational health and safety (OHS) policies and procedures on site.
• Conduct risk assessments, safety inspections, and toolbox talks.
• Investigate incidents/accidents and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with relevant safety regulations and company standards.
• Promote a strong safety culture among all personnel.

Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health, or related field.
• Relevant safety certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent) preferred.
• Minimum 2 years experience as a Safety Officer, preferably in engineering, construction, or industrial settings.
• Good knowledge of local safety legislation and practical risk management skills.
• ZAQA verification is mandatory.

4. ICT TECHNICIAN (2 POSITIONS)

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support for hardware, software, networks, and user devices.
• Install, configure, and maintain computer systems and network infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot and resolve ICT-related issues promptly.
• Manage user accounts, backups, and basic cybersecurity measures.
• Support digital tools and systems used across the organisation.

Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• At least 2 years hands-on experience in ICT support.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and familiarity with common operating systems, networking, and office applications.
• Ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks effectively.
• ZAQA verification is mandatory.

5. BUSINESS ADMINISTRATOR / HR (2 POSITIONS)

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle general administrative duties and office coordination.
• Support human resource functions including recruitment, onboarding, leave management, and employee records.
• Assist with payroll preparation, staff welfare, and policy implementation.
• Maintain organised filing systems and prepare reports as required.
• Coordinate internal communication and logistical support.

Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Human Resource Management, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years experience in administration and/or HR roles.
• Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic HR/administrative systems.
• High level of integrity and confidentiality.
• ZAQA verification is mandatory.

6. ACCOUNTANT (2 POSITIONS)

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate financial records and prepare accounts in line with company policies.
• Handle accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and cash management.
• Assist with budgeting, financial reporting, and statutory compliance (tax, statutory returns, etc.).
• Support internal and external audits.
• Ensure proper documentation and financial controls.

Requirements:

• Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Professional qualification (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
• At least 2–3 years practical accounting experience.
• Strong numerical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in accounting software.
• Knowledge of relevant tax and financial regulations.
• ZAQA verification is mandatory.

Job Description

Reporting to the Medical Doctor - LEP, you will be responsible for providing and ensuring the optimal health of all project employees, contractors, and their dependents.

YOUR DUTIES WILL INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

• Conduct pathological laboratory procedures as required by clinic and occupational health staff, including specimen collection, processing, analysis, and the operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
• Participate in external quality assessment (EQA) programmes and implement internal quality control (IQC) measures to ensure accuracy, reliability, and compliance with laboratory standards.
• Manage laboratory supplies and consumables, maintain inventory levels, and ensure proper control of laboratory data, documentation, and records.
• Prepare, standardise, and maintain laboratory reagents in accordance with established protocols and quality standards.
• Accountable for the completion of all tasks identified in the management Operating System (MOS) to the specified quality and timelines as assigned to the role.
• Develop, implement, and maintain safe work procedures and promote high safety and health awareness.
• Promote and comply with the company’s Occupational Health and Safety Policy.
• Be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the team
• Ensure appropriate facilities, procedures and workforce competence to achieve legal compliance, incident prevention and the achievement of tasks in an environmentally sustainable manner.
• Develop continuous improvement targets for the function and drive and measure the achievements of these targets.
• Ensure the development and maintenance of up-to-date job procedures for all tasks performed within the team.

REQUIREMENTS

• Grade 12 certificate
• Diploma in Biomedical Science
• Minimum Three (3) years’ working experience.
• Paid up member of the Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ)
• Must have excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
• Understanding of all relevant legislation affecting the employment and safety of persons in the mining industry in Zambia.
• proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
