Job Advert – Accounts Assistant

St. Peter's Anglican Parish is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced candidate to fill the position of Accounts Assistant.

A. Minimum Qualifications

• Full Grade 12 Certificate.
• Diploma in Accountancy, or CA Zambia Level 2, ACCA/CIMA Level 1.
• 1–2 years of relevant work experience.
• Good command of Microsoft Excel and spreadsheet applications.
• Knowledge of Pastel Accounting Software will be an added advantage.

B. Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Depositing all church collections and ensuring the timely issuance of receipts.
• Preparing requisitions and payment vouchers for all payments.
• Maintaining accurate records of financial transactions, including journal entries, ledgers and bank statements.
• Preparing monthly bank reconciliations for all accounts held with commercial banks, including mobile money/service provider accounts.
• Ensuring the timely preparation and submission of all statutory obligations.
• Assisting in the preparation of monthly and annual budgets.
• Assisting with financial reporting and analysis, including variance analysis and budget monitoring.
• Maintaining proper filing and custody of all transactional and financial documentation.
• Performing other accounting and administrative duties as assigned by the Parish Executive.
