This position reports to the Head Teacher and operates within the school functions. The Primary School Teacher will support the efficient day-to-day operation of the school by handling classes assigned, operational, and support functions within the school settings.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

• Preparing lesson plans for various subjects in accordance with curriculum objectives.
• Delivering lessons in a clear and engaging manner.
• Assessing students' abilities and progress through grading assignments and quizzes.
• Using creative learning methods and resources to make the classroom an interactive learning environment.
• Communicating with parents about their child's progress, behaviour, and development.
• Developing and enforcing classroom rules to maintain an organised and safe learning environment.
• Adapting teaching methods to cater for the diverse learning needs of students.
• Collaborating with other teachers, administration, and staff to enhance the overall learning experience.
• Participating in school events and activities.
• Making sure that the classroom is neat and tidy.
• Organising and leading after-school clubs and activities.
• Planning and managing school trips and events.

• Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
• Excellent communication, both verbal and written, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in computer usage and office software, such as Microsoft Office.
• Attention to detail, confidentiality, and accuracy with records.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle confidential or sensitive information.
• Customer service orientation, especially with parents and students.

Basic Qualifications

• Grade 12 School Certificate.
• Must have at least a credit in English, Mathematics, Sciences and any other two subjects.
• A credit in Zambian Language - Chinyanja will be an added advantage.
• Minimum of a Diploma or equivalent qualification in Primary Education.
• Familiarity with Zambian education policies, databases or systems will be an added advantage, including knowledge in ICT.
• Must be registered with the Teaching Council of Zambia (TCZ).
