African Parks is a non-profit conservation organisation that takes on responsibility for the long-term management of protected areas in partnership with governments and local communities. African Parks manages 24 protected areas in 13 countries covering over 20 million hectares across Africa, including Zambia.

About the Role

The Tourism Assistant will fulfil a variety of functions across the department and play a key role in providing assistance to the Tourism Operations Supervisors. The successful candidate will contribute to the seamless operation of tourism activities at Greater Kafue Landscape Limited.

Reporting Line

Tourism Operations Supervisor (GKLL)

Key Responsibilities

• Implement schedules and deployment activities.
• Perform administrative duties as instructed.
• Procure items required for tourism operations.
• Perform catering services.
• Distribute food rations and manage food storage.
• Take responsibility for stores and equipment.

Capabilities, Competencies and Experience

• Grade 12 or a tourism-related tertiary qualification is an added advantage.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Good report-writing skills.
• Good team player.
• Computer literate, including Microsoft packages.
• Good organisational skills.
• Ability to solve problems and make effective use of available resources to address often complicated challenges.
• Valid driver's licence; 4x4 driving experience will be an advantage.
