About the Company

Spud & Stack is a growing quick-service restaurant offering burgers, shawarma, loaded fries, mac & cheese with chicken, spiral potatoes, Chips Mayai and other fast-food products.

We are looking for energetic, disciplined, reliable and customer-focused individuals to join our team.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience working in busy, structured restaurant environments such as KFC, Hungry Lion, Nando’s, Debonairs, Steers, Pizza Hut or similar QSR/restaurant businesses, where food safety, portion control, recipes and SOPs are followed consistently.

The Role

The Shop Assistant will primarily be responsible for sales and customer service while also supporting the kitchen and general shop operations.

Overall Responsibility

• Welcome and assist customers professionally.
• Take customer orders accurately.
• Handle sales and customer payments responsibly.
• Assist with order packing and serving customers.
• Maintain excellent customer service standards.
• Communicate customer orders accurately to the kitchen.
• Check completed orders before handing them to customers.
• Assist with basic food preparation when required.
• Assist kitchen staff during busy periods.
• Keep the counter, dining/service area and shop clean and organised.
• Assist with opening, restocking and closing duties.
• Monitor basic stock levels and report shortages.
• Handle customer questions and complaints professionally.
• Follow company policies, hygiene requirements and SOPs.
• Minimise wastage and ensure products are handled appropriately.

Qualifications and Experience

• Preferably a lady.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
• Grade 12 education.
• Ability to speak, read and understand English.
• Experience relevant to the position applied for.
• Ability to follow recipes, procedures and SOPs.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and accuracy.
• Ability to work on your feet for extended periods.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, public holidays and late closing shifts.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Honest, reliable and hardworking.
• Clean and hygiene-conscious.
• Willingness to receive instructions, training and constructive correction.
• Reliable means of getting to work.
• Must be living in or reasonably close to the Kalingalinga/Kamloops area.
