About the Role: Safety Officer Jobs in Ndola
As a Safety Officer, you will implement approved safety plans and programs across the plant, monitoring employee adherence to established safety policies. You will support the planning and promotion of safety initiatives, conduct regular assessments to identify any gaps, and assist in safety drills according to the approved schedule.
Your responsibilities will include evaluating hazardous conditions and recommending appropriate controls—whether engineering, administrative, or personal protective equipment. You will also assist in accident investigations, ensuring timely communication of findings and supporting corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor safety protocols within the Ndola Cement Plant.
- Conduct periodic safety assessments and promote continuous improvement of safety programs.
- Assist in organizing and executing safety drills as per schedule.
- Evaluate workplace hazards and recommend effective control measures.
- Participate in accident investigations and communicate recommendations promptly.
- Support corrective actions to enhance safety and prevent future incidents.
- Provide accurate information to Compensation Administrators for processing injury claims.
- Maintain detailed records of safety activities and incident reports to identify trends.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Collect and analyze safety data to support program effectiveness.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma or Degree in Occupational Safety, Health, and Environment, or equivalent.
- Membership in a recognized safety institute is required.
- Proven ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with employees, management, external organizations, and regulatory agencies.
