Job Opportunity – Heavy Duty Mechanic
Lumwana Mining Company – Barrick is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Heavy Duty Mechanic to join its Maintenance team in Kalumbila.
Minimum Requirements
- Full Grade 12 Certificate.
- Craft Certificate in Heavy Equipment Repair or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in Heavy Earthmoving Equipment maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of mining or construction heavy equipment.
- Experience troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic and electronic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematic diagrams and circuits.
- Knowledge of equipment construction, design, assembly and maintenance.
- Preventive and corrective maintenance experience.
- Good communication skills, self-motivation and innovation.
- Membership with the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ).
Key Areas
Heavy equipment maintenance, diagnostics, hydraulic systems, mechanical repairs, electronic troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, component replacement, equipment inspections, planned maintenance and equipment reliability.
Role Focus
Performing preventive and responsive maintenance on heavy earthmoving equipment to maximize equipment availability, reliability and operational efficiency while maintaining high safety and workmanship standards.
