About the Farm
A 12-hectare farm in Mazabuka is looking for a practical and responsible Farm Supervisor to oversee day-to-day farm operations and manage the farm team.
Main Areas of Responsibility
The successful candidate's primary responsibility will be the management of:
- Hass Avocado: 1.3 hectares
- Tomatoes
- Onions
The supervisor will be expected to plan, coordinate and monitor production activities, manage workers and ensure these enterprises are properly maintained and productive.
The farm also has other enterprises, including:
- Winter Maize
- Village Chickens
- Goats
Knowledge and experience in these additional enterprises will be an added advantage, although the main focus of the position is crop production, particularly Hass avocado, tomatoes and onions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise the farm's day-to-day operations.
- Lead and coordinate farm workers and allocate daily tasks.
- Plan and monitor production activities for tomatoes, onions and Hass avocado.
- Monitor crop health, irrigation, weeding, spraying and other field activities.
- Ensure farm activities are carried out on time and according to required standards.
- Monitor the use of farm inputs, equipment and other resources.
- Keep proper records of farm activities, inputs, labour and production.
- Identify farm challenges early and report them to the owner.
- Coordinate other farm enterprises when required.
- Maintain productivity and continuity of operations when the owners are away.
- Take responsibility for the farm's daily operations and ensure the existing investment is properly managed.
Ideal Candidate
- At least 2 years of practical farm experience.
- A Certificate or Diploma in Agriculture or a related field.
- Strong practical knowledge of crop production.
- Experience in tomato and onion production.
- Knowledge of Hass avocado production will be highly relevant.
- Good ability to supervise and manage farm workers.
- Ability to work independently and make sound day-to-day operational decisions.
- Good record-keeping and reporting skills.
- Knowledge of maize, poultry and goat production will be an added advantage.

Salary & Benefits
Salary: K3,000 per month during the 3-month probation period, increasing to K3,500 per month after successful probation.
