Senior Storeman

Capital Limited is seeking a highly organised, experienced, and results-driven Senior Storeman to oversee and support the effective management of stores, inventory, materials, tools, equipment, and related logistics activities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate inventory control, proper storage and preservation of materials, timely issuance of stock, reconciliation of records, and compliance with the Company's internal control procedures and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
The Senior Storeman will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Supervise and coordinate daily store and warehouse operations.
- Receive, inspect, verify, and record incoming materials, equipment, tools, and supplies.
- Ensure all goods received are checked against purchase orders, delivery notes, and other supporting documentation.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records using the Company's inventory management system.
- Monitor stock levels and ensure timely replenishment of critical materials and consumables.
- Issue materials, tools, and equipment to authorised personnel against properly approved requisitions.
- Conduct regular stock counts, cycle counts, and periodic physical inventory verification.
- Investigate and report stock discrepancies, losses, damages, obsolete stock, and variances.
- Ensure proper labelling, coding, stacking, storage, preservation, and security of all inventory.
- Maintain proper documentation for goods received, issued, returned, transferred, damaged, or disposed of.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory and stores reports as required.
- Coordinate with Procurement, Finance, Operations, Maintenance, and other relevant departments regarding stock requirements and availability.
- Monitor minimum and maximum stock levels and support effective inventory planning.
- Ensure proper management and accountability of tools and equipment issued from the store.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment within the warehouse and stores.
- Ensure compliance with Company policies, internal controls, health and safety requirements, and applicable procedures.
- Supervise and provide guidance to Store Assistants and other junior store personnel where applicable.
- Participate in audits and provide all required inventory records and supporting documentation.
- Perform any other duties reasonably assigned by Management.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
- Diploma or Degree in Stores Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in stores, warehouse, inventory, or materials management.
- Previous experience in a senior or supervisory stores position will be an added advantage.
- Experience working in construction, mining, engineering, manufacturing, or a similar operational environment will be highly advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of inventory control procedures and warehouse management practices.
- Experience using inventory management systems, ERP systems, or related software.
- Good proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and record-keeping skills.
- Knowledge of stock reconciliation, cycle counting, and inventory reporting.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- High level of integrity, accountability, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and effectively under pressure.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
