INTERNSHIP

First Quantum Minerals is offering Learner/Internship opportunities to individuals seeking practical industry experience and professional development. Successful learners will gain exposure to operational and business processes while contributing to departmental objectives under the guidance of supervisors and mentors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support day-to-day departmental activities and assigned projects.
  • Assist with data collection, analysis, record keeping and report preparation.
  • Participate in operational activities, inspections, audits and site visits where applicable.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and filing systems.
  • Attend meetings, training sessions, toolbox talks and workshops.
  • Support process improvement and operational efficiency initiatives.
  • Learn and apply relevant company systems, processes and procedures.
  • Comply with company policies, HSE requirements and mining regulations.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Full Grade 12 School Certificate.
  • Trade/Craft Certificate, Diploma or Degree in a relevant field.
  • 0–1 years’ relevant experience, including industrial attachment, internship or volunteer experience.
  • All academic qualifications and results must be verified by ZAQA.
  • Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good organisational skills, professionalism, integrity and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to follow instructions and established procedures.
  • Strong commitment to health, safety and environmental standards.
