A reputable company operating in the Heavy Equipment, Mining, Construction & Engineering industry is looking for an experienced and proactive Safety Officer to join its team.
Location: Chingola, Copperbelt
Industry: Heavy Equipment | Mining | Construction
Gross Salary: K15,000 per month
Salary Note: Negotiable for candidates with exceptional experience
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor HSE policies, procedures and safety standards.
- Conduct workplace inspections, hazard identification and risk assessments.
- Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions and employee safety training.
- Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor PPE compliance and safe working practices.
- Maintain HSE records, reports and inspection documentation.
- Support emergency preparedness, drills and safety audits.
- Ensure compliance with applicable occupational health and safety requirements.
Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health, Safety Management or a related field.
- 3 years’ relevant experience, preferably in mining, construction, heavy equipment, engineering or another high-risk environment.
- Strong knowledge of risk assessment, incident investigation and workplace safety procedures.
- First Aid and Fire Safety certification is an advantage.
- Strong communication, reporting, leadership and problem-solving skills.
