MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT

Lusaka, Zambia

Sanctuary Gardens Rehabilitation & Wellness Centre is seeking a reliable, responsible and trustworthy Maintenance Assistant to help maintain buildings, facilities and grounds and ensure a safe, clean and welcoming environment for clients and staff.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Carry out general maintenance, minor repairs and preventative tasks.
• Maintain buildings, equipment, utilities and outdoor areas.
• Assist with plumbing, basic electrical work and grounds maintenance.
• Ensure a safe, clean and welcoming environment for clients and staff.
• Follow all health, safety, safeguarding and security procedures.

REQUIREMENTS

• Basic education with ability to read, write and maintain simple records.
• Practical knowledge or experience in general maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, electrical work or a related field.
• Ability to safely use basic maintenance tools.
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Reliable, responsible and trustworthy.

DESIRABLE

• Trade certificate or vocational qualification in plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, construction, welding or another relevant trade.
• Previous maintenance experience within a healthcare, residential, hospitality, school or institutional environment.
• Basic knowledge of occupational health and safety.
• Basic fire safety or first-aid training.
