GENERAL WORKER

PURPOSE

This exciting opportunity exists in Fraser Alexander Zambia to assist with the general activities on site.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Operations

• Punctual adherence to site-specific time schedules.
• Attend safety talks.
• Conduct daily risk assessments.
• Meet specified operational requirements.
• Attend risk assessment meetings.
• Ensure tools are kept in a safe working condition.
• Report unsafe conditions and behavior.
• Liaise with the Supervisor regarding work-related matters.
• Comply with all relevant health and safety rules, regulations, and operational procedures.
• Assist with and carry out tasks and instructions from line managers as requested.

Health and Safety

• Follow written and verbal safe work procedures when executing specific tasks and emergencies as per training.
• Wear the correct PPE for each specific task.
• Follow all safety procedures and site emergency protocols.
• Adhere to procedures as per training and site-specific standards.
• Maintain emergency preparedness at all times
• Report unsafe acts and/or conditions.
• Participate in all training-related activities.

Housekeeping

• Practice good housekeeping in all work areas.
• Clean tools regularly and store equipment properly.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate.

EXPERIENCE

• At least one (1) year of experience working within the tailings environment in the mining sector.

SKILLS, QUALITIES AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

• Ability to read and write.
• Good communication skills.
• Disciplined and hardworking.
• Ability to receive and follow instructions and communicate with co-workers
